wat.  I bow to no one in terms of my Ace love/obsession/adoration, but seriously, WHAT.  how does this even make sense?

Luffy’s gonna be the pirate king.  also, sucks as a captain?  o_O

you know what makes me kind of sad?  it makes me sad that for some people there has to be a choice.  One Piece is just love, all of it.  I love Luffy.  I love Ace.  they’re different people, and I love them for different reasons.  I don’t feel the need to say one is better than the other.  I love Ace more, but that’s because I identify with him more than I do Luffy.  that doesn’t make me love Luffy any less.  I mean, he’s *amazing*.  both of them are.

I don’t know, what do you guys think?

Ace is my Favorite Character has been since I first started reading One Piece (it was in the Shonen Jump I was reading and it happened to be one of the first chapters with Ace in it) I bawled like a baby when he died.

However I have never thought that Luffy should have died instead of Ace. Luffy is amazing in his own ways. He may act dumb but he is very preceptive and is an excellent judge of character. Also his will to go to any lengths for the people he loves is admireable. I will never be able to understand how someone reading One Piece could not like Luffy. Also when Ace died Luffy lost another part of his family. Yet he was able to move past that because he had other people who needed him whch shows how good of a captain he is. This is why Luffy is my second favorite character (along with Zoro). Also Ace wasn’t a better brother. When he and Luffy first met he almost killed Luffy many times (Luffy only survived because he was Rubber). Luffy was the one making the effort to become friends with Ace. Also Ace would still be the angry upset person he was as a child if it wasn’t for Luffy who opened him up to the good points of the world.
